Vitamin 'N'

The Great American Smokeout happened on November 16th. Work decided that smoking was no longer allowed on the premises, sooooo.....I quit. Cold Turkey.

The first day wasn't too bad. I had it in my head that I was going to WIN this battle, and I did.

Day two was worse than the first, and I only snapped a few times.

Day three....yeah....that was BAD. The sound of someone breathing would drive me nuts. My husband even told me to go have a cigarette so I would quit being so... intolerable. Not that I blame him, I was a real piece of work!

It's been nearly two weeks now. Some days are better than others, but I've got it (and myself!) under control now. Let's just hope I don't develop some other addictive habit as a substitute!!

Blech

Stupid flu. You know the day is going to be bad when you wake up to have breakfast with the family you see once a year at one of the best restaurants in town for one of your favorite foods (Swedish Pancakes) and the thought of syrup nauseates you....

I never realized that dry toast and flat Sprite taste the same both ways!

Giving Thanks

My family came for Thanksgiving all the way from Kansas. We ate, drank and were very merry. Amazingly no large fights, disagreements or squabbles broke out this year. Maybe it was because most of us were 'mellow' on Elderberry wine, or perhaps it was because the troublemakers of years past were absent, regardless of why I'm glad all went well.

Turkey, stuffing, gravy, green beans, sweet potato casserole, cranberries, more turkey, more gravy, pecan pie, pumpkin pie, turkey, gravy, nap, football, wine, more grazing and napping and then more pie.

Hope everyone's day was as wonderful!
